John Kim

John Kim is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who emphasizes empathy, collaboration, resilience, and trauma-informed care within the therapeutic setting. He earned his B.A in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and received a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University. His background began as an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) behavioral technician working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities before serving adults in substance use recovery and rehabilitation.

 

John offers a commitment to working with diverse individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and needs. He uses an integrative approach to counseling, understanding the unique nature of each individual's presenting issues, and blends a variety of approaches with a multicultural lens (including psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, somatic work, attachment-based, and person-centered).

 

Outside of the counseling space, John enjoys immersing in and creating art as an authentic and healing source of human expression.
