Jason Giang, LCSW
Born and raised in Southern California, Jason earned a B.A. in Criminology, Law and Society at UC, Irvine. Soon thereafter, Jason realized his passion for clinical work and completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) with an emphasis on community mental health. Further, Jason acquired specialized training on Critical Race Theory (CRT) which was the core foundation of his graduate program. Jason’s professional background includes expertise in the following areas: drug and alcohol treatment, post incarceration re-entry, programs that serve high risk populations, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Jason has practical experience with differing populations such as: transitioned aged youth (TAY), veterans, seniors, and clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
Jason utilizes a relaxed interpersonal approach to psychotherapy with the purpose of building rapport and collaboration with his clients. Jason utilizes evidence-based practice in his cognitive therapeutic approach and is certified by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition, Jason has multiple peer reviewed journal articles published, been a guest panel speaker for the Orange County Probation Department and California Department of Rehabilitation; and presenter for the American Association of Service Coordinators: National Conference in 2022.
